With Ukraine in Our Hearts
The government of Ukraine does it’s best to defend Ukraine and it's citizens, provide hospitals with necessary medication, but the scale of war disaster is such that it is often not enough to purchase all the necessary medicines, special food and care for all sick children and especially orphans.
Saving lives is not easy, but nothing is impossible when there is an effective system to respond to the medical needs of children in difficult circumstances.
Our organization also could not stand aside and initiated the project - "With Ukraine in our Hearts" in order to act quickly to requests received from the hospitals via bilateral cooperation agreements for urgent purchase of medicines or other needs for children.
We help hospitals via our fund “A MONEXBOX OF CARE”. Until now we successfully provided help to Dnipropetrovsk Specialized Clinical Medical Center for Mother and Child Health named after Prof. M. F. Rudnev and Ohmatdyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital of Ministry of Health education, which admit children from all regions in Ukraine, where help could not be provided by local hospitals (many of them do not exist anymore because of war distructions). Each of them receives more than 20000 children for treatment, performs 7000- 10000 surgeries in newborns and children yearly. Now, unfortunately, those numbers grow by adding the terrible context of the war, which needs additional attention and care. Both hospitals shared heart-breaking stories of children who have suffered from war. Specialists are fighting for their health and even life days and nights non-stop in a courageous way.
With the help of from internantional collaborations in USA and Switzerland, we collected 30 760 USD and 2 020 EUR, which allowed us to buy necessary equipment on 25 305 USD, the rest went on urgent needs of hundreds of moms and newborns.
Our SPECIAL THANK YOU GOES TO Dr. Gennady Cymbalyuk, Associate Professor at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA, USA) and St.Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Church members in Cumming (GA, USA), who were able to fundrase a generous financial aid, which allowed to buy electrosurgical and other medical devices. You can see they work here.
We also collaborate with other local associations and charity fonds to help with concrete needs of childrens. For several months we have been in contact with the foundation "For the Future of Ukraine" in Dnipro (Благодійний фонд "За майбутнє України", https://www.facebook.com/groups/641326832665449/) whose activity centers around helping children living in the territories recently liberated after being occupied by the Russian army. These children still live with their families or have been placed in homes for unaccompanied minors. As soon as an area becomes accessible again to Ukrainian civilians, the foundation "For the Future of Ukraine" works closely with the population and the homes that have taken in unaccompanied minors to identify the needs to be met in the very short term (weeks, even days). Recently, the region of Balekliia was liberated from Russian occupation and the foundation currently cares for 182 children (from 1 to 17 years old, most of whom are aged 4-10) and 20 pregnant women. In addition there are demands to help more than 700 children with different needs to survive this cold winter without stable electricity and water supply because of distructions done by Russia. Please help us to help those children urgently. All donations will go to help those children and pregnant women.
